When and Where to Watch
The 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place on Sunday, May 26th, 2024. The race will be broadcast live on NBC, with pre-race coverage beginning at 11 am ET. The pre-race show and race can also be streamed live on NBC's website and the NBC Sports app.
What's New for 2024
This year's Indy 500 will feature a new qualifying format, with the fastest nine drivers from each of the two days of qualifying advancing to the Fast Nine Shootout. The winner of the Fast Nine Shootout will earn the pole position for the race.
Other changes for 2024 include:
- The introduction of a new Dallara DW12 chassis
- The use of a new tire compound
- An increase in the race distance from 500 miles to 520 miles
