Edmonton Oilers Edge Out Dallas Stars in Game 1 OT Thriller

McDavid's Overtime Heroics Snap Oilers' Game 1 Losing Streak

The Edmonton Oilers have finally ended their seven-game Game 1 losing streak in the playoffs, thanks to a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the Dallas Stars. Connor McDavid scored the game-winning goal just 32 seconds into double overtime, giving the Oilers an early lead in the 2024 Western Conference Final.

Stars Strike First, Oilers Rally in the Third

The Stars struck first in the second period when Jason Robertson scored a power-play goal. The Oilers responded in the third period with goals from Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman to take a 2-1 lead. However, the Stars tied the game with just 2:31 remaining in the third period, sending the game into overtime.

McDavid's Magic in Overtime

In overtime, McDavid took over. He made several dazzling moves to get around the Stars' defensemen and then fired a shot past goaltender Jake Oettinger to secure the victory. The goal was McDavid's 10th of the playoffs, and it marked the first time he has scored an overtime goal in the postseason.

Series Continues in Dallas

The series now shifts to Dallas for Games 2 and 3. The Stars will be looking to tie the series, while the Oilers will be aiming to take a commanding 2-0 lead. The next game is scheduled for May 26th in Dallas.
